The circus series are Cubist-inspired sculptures, dealing with the relationship between mankind, nature and society. The works are characterized by festive colors and consist of many pieces, representing the complexity of life. The seemingly childish colors and textures convey an atmosphere of a multidimensional attraction.
Upon further observation one notices the round, cold metal element, giving a supervised perspective to the work. Here the unspoken part of the work is revealed, one that can easily be ignored or obscured by the deception of color. This round object symbolizes the “circle of money” which embodies the false essence of the complex reality which forms the relationship between mankind, nature and our surroundings; a reality that raises philosophical and ethical questions regarding the exploitation of those unwillingly used to fulfill the human needs. When used properly, money can be useful like perhaps no other item. We can use money to give tzedakah, to purchase material items to honor Shabbat and the Holidays, to perform many mitzvahs. We can take mundane money and instill within it Holiness. However, when abused, money can become the source of all evil.
The works consist of many unique parts. Each piece was hand cut and painted symbolizing how Hashem Creates and Oversees the lives of each and every individual as we interact as a whole to serve Him.
