Rosenbach Contemporary, Jerusalem's leading private gallery devoted to exhibiting and promoting contemporaryJewish and Israeli Art, was founded by Uri Rosenbach in September 2015. Rosenbach began his career in fine art in 1996 and specialized in classical and collectible fine art. From 2007, he served as the main auctioneer (licensed in New York) and CEO of a local auction house. In 2014 Rosenbach established Stein Rose Fine Art in New York. Following the success of Stein Rose, Rosenbach decided to concentrate his efforts in Jerusalem and established Rosenbach Contemporary.
The gallery has set as its goal to promote and represent the highest quality of established, young, and emerging artists. Exhibited artists grew up in India, France, Brazil, Venezuela, America, Israel yet all have in common (a prerequisite to show in the gallery) that today they live and work in Israel.
Many of the artists are religiously observant; some grew up observant and others having become baalei tshuva at different points in time. Rosenbach, who became observant in the early 1980’s, does not actively search for observant artists. His approach encourages freedom to positively express emotion, spirituality, and hope. Each artist is unique; each painting is unique.
Located in the exclusive King David St. area, Rosenbach Contemporary promises to re-establish the conversation surrounding contemporary Jewish art.
